Southam Town Council Match Fund purchase of Squadron Mini Bus
I am very pleased to announce that 2028 Squadron Civilian Committee have been able to agree 'match-funding' for the purchase of a Mini Bus.
The mini bus is currently owned by 121 Squadron at Nuneaton and is a clear demonstration of inter-Squadron co-operation. Once the bus has been Insured, had an MOT and been taxed we can take it into use. This will greatly improve our ability to transport our Cadets to events.
Mrs Lynda Scriven, Secretary of the Civilian Committee commented, "The Chairman, Treasurer and myself saw this as a real opportunity to help the staff and cadets with what are increasingly challenging times with transport. The Squadron has increased tremendously in numbers over the last 18 months and getting our Cadets to and from events now requires the use, more often than not, of two mini buses. We can always book the Community Bus but having one of our own will help the staff to make 'local' decisions on a parade evening."
Flight Lieutenant Moreton, CO of 2028 Squadron said on hearing the news, " My Committee are constantly looking for opportunities to help us and the purchase of a mini-bus is fantastic news. I am delighted that the Town Council have supported us once again, they have always been great supporters of all we do."
