Duke of Edinburg's Award

Cadets joining the Air Training Corps are made aware of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and every cadet is encouraged to participate in the scheme. By taking part in the Award through the ATC, a helping hand is given in obtaining the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards through activities that are normally done within the squadron.

Once each level is completed, you gain a certificate and badge. Those achieveing the highest Award, the Gold level, are invited to St James Palace in London to receive their Certificate and Badge, usually from the Duke of Edinburgh himself, a real 'honour.' For more information, check out this site.

From the 1st April 2008 the V involved Team Scheme is available for cadets aged 16 and above. To gain this award they have to complete 50 and 250 hours of service to the Community within the ATC. Once completed a certificate and badge will be awarded. This new Scheme replaces the old 'MV' and as before all Air Cadets will be encouraged to take part.

Both Awards are highly regarded by employers and give cadets the opportunity to learn many valuable life skills.

In January 2010 2028 Squadron were second overall in D of E Awards and 'Top' in the V Awards for Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing.
